Review of Apocalypto (2006) by Allan C — 13 Apr 2012
Setting aside that Mel Gibson is a nut bag, this guy can seriously direct a great movie. Of all his films, this one is by far the most brutal and Gibson's neanderthal aesthetic really runs wild this time.
Although story is pretty simple, the film has an epic feel and is a pure adrenaline rush. This is a film that I will certainly want to watch again. It's probably not for all tastes, but this was filmmaking of the highest order.
I can't wait to see what Gibson directs next.
