Review of Apocalypto (2006) by Jesse M — 17 Nov 2012
This is a testament to the incredible skill of Director Mel Gibson. He takes a no-name cast, made it entirely in a foreign language, and about a historical setting that no one in the film industry had interest in showing, and yet he produces a powerful and moving picture that is absolutely fantastic. Yeah, it's graphic, sure. But it's not as gratuitous as it is historically accurate.
Probably one of the most underrated movies of the 2000's.
