Review of Apocalypse Now (1979) by Shahriar S — 19 Sep 2012
Francis Ford Coppola is a genius. he took heart of darkness a truly revolutionary book and turned it into this, his 3rd greatest achievement (godfather 1 and 2 being 1st and 2nd respectively). Marlon Brando was amazing in this movie he was perfect for the role of the insane yet prestigious colonel Kurtz.
the story is more character driven rather than plot driven and you have a hand load of brilliant characters and some vivid dialogue that sets the scene for this journey for Captain Willard to find the recently turned insane Kurtz and the conclusion of this tale is one that is memorable.
"I LOVE THE SMELL OF NAPALM IN THE MORNING" Robert Duvall saying one of the greatest lines in movie history.
