Review of Apocalypse Now (1979) by Matt M — 01 Jan 2013
Coppola's film is quite simply not only one of the best visions on the Vietnam War but also one of the most haunting tales of madness. It's magnificence was also made possible by Vittorio Storaro's wonderful work of cinematography that captures the damned beauty of Saigon, which concealed shocking tension and sharp scenes of violence.
This film is gripping and shocking from the start right up to the insanity filled Brando ending.
