Deliciously pretentious.
Oh you like apocalypse now? You must know so much about film. Coppola really knew what he was doing by touching on a subject that makes people feel like they are watching something dark and disturbingly real. Showing us the dark side of war. And sure this movie does show that war is a terrible experience and all that but let's face it, the acting was dull, it's way too long and it leaves you with a huge gap. There's no satisfaction at the end!
Beautifully shot, well written, great story, poorly executed. Don't feel like you have to love this movie to know good cinema.
