Review of Apocalypse Now (1979) by Jacob H — 13 Apr 2013
"The horror! The horror!" are the final lines of this bizarre and disturbing tale of a boating expedition in Vietnam during the war. Never before has a director been so daring and so honest in a work of film.
Martin Sheen and the other expeditioners give great performances of course, but the more interesting performers are Robert Duvall and Marlon Brando, both having about 15 minutes of screen time, but giving the film its true heart beat.
Apocalypse Now is Francis Ford Coppola's greatest film.
