Review of Apocalypse Now (1979) by Brian H — 14 Jul 2013
A remarkable film which transcends its many flaws, both pre- and post-production and manages to deliver an experience greater than so many other films could deliver. In this seemingly straightforward, albeit rather confusing, narrative, we see metaphors for life, for war, and most if all, for man's relationship with himself, his desire for transcendence above his current state, and our inner desire to rebel against the status quo.
