Review of Apocalypse Now (1979) by Joshua D — 23 Aug 2014
There could have been a lot of editing in this movie. Almost a full hour could have been cut from this film, content that was not related to the story at all. I get the theme, war is hell. The battle scenes were well done, however you never got a real sense for the character Willard, and could not really empathize with him unless you were a smoker, seeing that he smoked in almost every scene of the movie.
When dying of malnutrition Willard elects not to eat, but by golley he would light up a malboro. I give it four stars because of the talent on the screen, and great battle sequences.
