Review of Apocalypse Now (1979) by Ben L — 26 Oct 2016
Whenever someone mentions the name of Francis Ford Coppola, The Godfather immediately comes to mind. It may have a larger resonance with the American public, but when it comes down to it, Coppola made a better film with Apocalypse Now.
This is a movie with an intriguing story that is somehow outmatched by its outstanding visual flare. Given that it's a movie made in the late 70's, it's perfectly okay to call it one of the best visual marvels in the history of cinema.
Apocalypse Now ranks with the great war movies.
