Review of Apartment 1303 3D (2012) by Jay A — 24 Mar 2013
Apartment 1303 is one of the scariest Horror films ever made and it is also one of the better Japanese remakes since Dark Water and The Ring. The plot of this film is about a young woman name Lara who lives with her alcoholic mother who used to be a famous singer.
After her sister Janet died Lara decides to check the room to grab her stuff but soon she encounters the same haunting that her sister experienced in the Apartment before she died and soon Lara learns the truth about what really happened in the room and she must leave before she gets killed as well.
I just came home from SM Lipa and to be honest I love this movie and it was very scary and creepy at the same time and I had a fun time watching this movie a lot. To be honest I never saw the original Japanese Horror film but I did enjoy this movie a lot and the whole film is so original and super scary at the same time.
What's great about Apartment 1303 is that the whole movie is very suspenceful from the beginning until the end and there are lots of suspenceful scenes in this film. The opening scene where Janet falls of the balcony of Apartment 1303 is one of the most intense parts of the film and that scene is really nail biting and intense.
Scenes in the middle and the first half are creepy and scary and I did enjoy watching those scenes and the ghosts in this film looks so damn scary and creepy at the same time and the little girl in this movie is so creepy that reminds me of the girls from The Shining while the last parts of the film is so damn eerie and creepy at the same time and I did enjoy watching all those scenes in the film a lot and overall the scares are effective and well used in the whole movie.
I also enjoy the film;s soundtrack and the film's soundtrack is so brooding and dark plus eerie as well and it gives the whole movie a dark and eerie feel and I did enjoy the soundtrack of this film a lot because it gives the whole film a creepy and scary feel and the soundtrack is overall impressive.
Ok I admit that the movie doesn't have enough atmosphere and most of the CGI is well used in a couple of parts while sometimes it is a bit outdated in certain parts of the film but I just totally adore this film a lot and most of the visual and special effects are very good for this movie and I like the special and visual effects of this movie overall.
Now the acting is great the casts did a really good job with their roles in the film a lot. Rebecca De Mornay did a good job with her role in the film as the mother of Lara and Janet and she seriously handled her role really well in this movie while Mischa Barton did a good job with her role in the film as the protagonist Lara and she's so gorgeous and beautiful as well not only her acting is great but she looks so gorgeous and beautiful at the exact same time and I adore her looks in this movie a lot and overall the casts did an impressive job with their works in the film so far.
Director and Writer Michael Taverna did a wonderful job in making this new Horror film and he managed to create something way more different with this movie and he managed to handle the scares really well for this movie and overall he did a really good job with his work with this movie.
Overall Apartment 1303 gets a 10/10 because this is a solid Horror film with lots of scares and suspense that can keep you on the edge of your seat and it is seriously worth watching.
