Review of Aparajito (1956) by Justin H — 25 Nov 2007
Since it's less effective than Pather Panchali in almost every way, part two in this trilogy suffers by comparison. Personally I felt a lot less for Apu the adolescent than Apu the kid, despite the fact that the kid has relatively few lines (in both movies).
The kid has a great face, but even so - it's no match for his mother's own deeply expressive face which dominates the movie.
