Review of Aparajito (1956) by Brad S — 05 Dec 2015
The pacing is hard to get used to. Aparajito is slow, slow, slow - but it's still a great film. The story of Apu continues as he must decide whether to stay in his small town or pursue his education. His decision is complicated by his father's death and his mother's illness.
The beauty of the movie is in it's ability to capture real life events in a very true and honest way. It's slow going but worth the journey. This is no Bollywood movie - it's quite different from anything you might expect from India. Looking forward to seeing how the trilogy completes itself.
