Review of Any Day Now (2012) by Borhan K — 03 May 2013
Any Day Now a movie based in the 70's about a drag queen and his lawyer boyfriend and their fight to keep custody of a down syndrome boy. A very powerful movie about how the legal system in the 70's in America really made this child suffer til the very end and the ignorance that the legal system had back then. I am not going to say yay or nay against same gender couples however this movie really was about the safe upbringing of the child in question. The legal system was soo much into what was politically correct at the time they forgot that it has a real person at the end of all that legal nonsense. Anyways ill let you guys watch it and make up your own minds.
About the movie in general the first impression I got of the drag queen numbers sang reminded me of The Birdcage the only difference was that this movie was dramatic not like The Birdcage.
The really cool thing people get to see is Alan Cumming yes the guy from the Good Wife has an amazing voice at first he lip syncs but then you actually here him sing and man this guy truly can do any role that he gets put in front of him.
A strong cast and excellent performance by Issac Leyva.
The movie should be watch but because of its nature of subject matter not a kiddy movie.
Ohh how ignorant we can be. Education is key.
