Now you see, This Is Spinal Tap can only be funny when you watch it and go, "wow, I'm glad that's NOT me." A long, long time ago, in a period of preferred hairstyle far far away lived an early 80's Canadian metal band named Anvil.

Lifelong best friends Steve "Lips" Kudlow and Robb Reiner made a pact to keep on rockin' no matter what happened. Almost 30 years later, and they're still buds, but success couldn't be farther away.

As they go through the myriad line-up changes, having to move their own gear, missing countless trains and inter-band yelling matches, we are unexpectedly sucked into their hardships...as well as triumphs.

This documentary (it's a real-life story, by the way, not a MOCKumentary), by former Anvil roadie Sacha Gervasi follows the tribulations of Lips and Robb-o as they tour and put together their 13th studio album.

As a documentary perhaps it left me wanting more, but because the two at the forefront are so endearing and genuine, I found it extremely hard to NOT care. A heartwarming account of the latter days of the band that influenced Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax and Gn'R.

..amongst others.
