Review of Another Year (2010) by Megan O — 02 Feb 2011
The lack of Oscar attention for Another Year is appalling. Lesley Manville's performance is without a doubt, one of the year's best, not to mention the entire cast would likely win my vote for best ensemble of the year.
At least the screenplay received a much-deserved nod, as it is well-structured poetry at it's finest, a beautiful character study of an desperately unhappy woman struggling to hang on to the only small piece of comfort that she can find.
Without a doubt, one of the best films of 2010.
