Only has a screenplay nom (which is ironic considering dir Leigh is known for working w/out a script and having his actors improvise) but this is the best of the Oscar films so far (and I've seen all but 4 in top 8 categories and 8 of the 10 films nominated for best picture).
For being improvised, the dialogue is amazing. And Lesley Manville's performance is the best single performance I've seen among the Oscar films - and she didn't even get nominated (though she did get a Golden Globe nom).
I liked this one even better than dir's SECRET AND LIES.
