Another year, another Mike Leigh film - this time he's going back to his roots after the slight departure of Happy Go Lucky, and its another corker. It plods along at a leisurely pace, but as always its about the characters.
The performances are natural and believable, and whilst there isn't much plot to talk about, it does slowly draw you in to the character's lives. If you don't like Mike Leigh films, this isn't going to change anything, but if you do, its Leigh doing what he does best.
