Excruciatingly boring for more than an hour into the movie, I almost didn't make it to the end. But I understood by the end that the boring parts were a necessary setup, and there were a couple of scenes that were truly poignant and dramatic and extremely sad.
Great performance by Lesley Manville who plays the sad and pathetic Mary. Disappointing and depressing ending.
