Review of Another Year (2010) by Stefano L — 03 Sep 2012
"British filmmaker Mike Leigh delivers another emotionally honest portrait of ordinary people trying to make sense of their lives in this comedy drama.".
This is the beginning of Flixster's introduction to the film. The point is: Mike Leigh's portrait is surely emtional and truly honest, simple and very respectful to real life, and the people are of course ordinary and try to make sense of their lives. The only problem is that the movie also results very slow, harsh, boring to follow and endless. I don't give it a very bad mark because I have to recognize that is very well made, with melancholic soundtracks and use of the images, but I could also not to say that that were the 2 hours most light-hearted of my life.
