Review of Another Year (2010) by Alberto A — 08 Sep 2012
Amazing portrait of reality. It felt so real as of I was watching a play. Not many movies can represent life as it is, this one could and I salute Mr. Leigh for doing it. He has tendencies of making such real movies with authentic topics.
Most of the people that consider this film as dull, are pretty much bored with their lives because I bet the situations that are raised happen in every single family.
Deep look into how humans respond to loneliness and how we can become parasites if we do not learn how to be with oneself. It also is about settlement, family, expectations, happiness, aging and ultimately, death.
Incredible performance by Lesley Manville, I could sense the lonliness of her character with my five senses.
