Review of Another Woman (1988) by Thomas M — 12 Jan 2008
Saw it on release as I was 16. and I thoroughly identified to this 50ish female philosophy teacher played by geena rowlands. to me the movie is transcendant for its universality and narration. through the linear plot, we venture into fantasies, dreams, memories, other places.
the tone is heavy and sad, yet never oppressing. just it calls for, yearns for change. its magnifiscently represented by rilke's poem and debussy's arrangement of satie's gymnopedy.
