This movie has a lot going for it and a lot going against it.
On the good side, it's nice that gay teenagers now have their own gross out sex comedy like all the other teens in their high school.
What's unfortunate is the way the film tries to mimic American Pie so hard, when it should be standing on it's own. The characters in the film even mention "American Pie", so they know the movie exists, yet they mirror the film constantly in what they say and do.
It's got a really great cast and a very smart script, it's just unfortunate that they spend so much time trying to mimic the straight movies they don't come up with enough of their own gags/story.
Sure the directing is a little amateurish at times and the cast might be over eager to the point of being living cartoons (and i'm not even talking about Ant), but it's got heart, balls and a pretty good grasp on what is hilarious.
In the future it'd be nice to see the director to take more chances instead of relying so heavily on an already stale and dead formula, the straight american teen sex comedy.
