Very reminiscent of "Drugstore Cowboy", but far more grimey. Heroin is the chief vice here as well as reckless murder in the desolate landscape of 1970s middle America. Woods sleepwalks through his part, the two young counterparts are dandy, but it is Griffith who glitters supreme.
