I really enjoyed this film; however, that is because I am educated on the history of Shakespeare, which includes many of the names included in Emmerich's story. I have a feeling that viewers who have no background on Shakespeare at all will have no idea what's going on.

I am a firm believer that Shakespeare penned his own works, but this film did pose some good points, as well as throwing in some facts that had me questioning the famous playwright a few times. Overall, I was hooked the entire time.

..that also could have had something to do with me trying to piece together who was related to whom and which play was written about which storyline in Edward's life, so I had to listen intently and never stray from the screen! Kind of confusing.
