Review of Anonymous (2011) by Andrew B — 06 Nov 2012
History students are going to balk and many critics haven't been able to see past the film's claims, but the fact remains that Anonymous is at the very least a well-realised "what if" movie and certainly an entertaining one.
Roland Emmerich isn't exactly known for his brainy flicks, previously putting out Michael Bay-esque schlock, but Anonymous, while messy, is certainly a good attempt at something thoroughly fresh and different.
The performances are superb, and disguise some frankly rather shallow characters.
