Review of Anonymous (2011) by Jeramie K — 23 Mar 2013
Anonymous wants you to so badly get stuck in the web that it weaves that it oftentimes forgets from where it began and where it intends to go.
I am not one to comment on the authenticity or accuracy of the portrayal of Elizabethan England, however enough things caught my attention to really make me question this particular tale.
The glaring flaw in Anonymous is that they are so desperate to have the audience believe the story they have fabricated that it seems like they will throw historical accuracy aside to accomplish their goal.
The set design is wonderfully done. The acting is top notch due in part to a wonderful script.
However, the film just takes too many liberties in order to convince you of something of which they already know.
