Review of Annihilation (2018) by Debabrata B — 03 Mar 2018
This movie is odd. Very odd. But it's also kind of great. Natalie Portman is of course amazing as always, and the visuals in the film are quite stunning. While it's classified as a fantasy adventure flick, it also has tones of horror - with quite striking switches from a colorful world, to a dark, gritty one lurking beneath the surface.
The last half an hour becomes weird af and will leave you asking lots of questions and pondering what you just witnessed, but it's well worth the watch. It's a film that I'm really glad I saw on the big screen, because I don't think a television will fully capture its essence.
