I didn't understand Ex Machina, but some podcasters I like enjoyed the movie ( rather saw merit in the movie) so I thought I'd give it a try.

It starts off slow, but is well acted. There's not a lot of action so my attention wandered a bit. It is intriguing that it's an all women team. That was an appeal for me too.

But it is a weird movie. It's just very weird. At the end I was like, "Okay. Enough of this." I was glad to be done.

I must say, though, and it must be emphasized, Natalie Portman is a badass in this movie! I was like, "Whoa! Was she in the Israeli army or what?" She doesn't mess around. She really should be doing action pictures. If she want itty-bitty she probably would. But she walks like , "Hey I'm not playing!" And she carries herself with such power. Just.... whoa! Yeah Natalie Portman rocked this part.
