Review of Annihilation (2018) by Jens S — 14 Mar 2018

While this Sci-Fi-Adventure comes with a pretty impressive cast, great looking effects and an interesting premise, the last act does not entirely live up to the set-up. You can't say the film doesn't try to bring something new to the table but the slow pace and philosophical aspects of the rather biological problems shown only work to some degree.

The ending is as unsettling as weird. You gotta appreciate the film going different ways, and it's certainly as entertaining as challenging, but somehow I expected a little...more.
