Review of Annihilation (2018) by Vincent H — 08 Jun 2018
I do like a good psychological thriller, and I thought Garland's "Ex Machina" was masterful, but "Annihilation" is lacking something. Maybe if I were a psychology major I would have understood the symbolism better, but the "underlying meaning" was too opaque for my taste.
Still, the premise is solid and the delivery acceptable, so it's still worth recommending. Just do your homework before watching if you want to maximize your enjoyment of it.
