Scifi geek here. Still obsessing over this film. Missing many of the novel's scenes/narrative, yet does embrace the essence. Yes, it could be tweaked (would like even longer 2nd act!). But Jesus, not to hyperbolize too much -- I felt as confused & enlightened as much as I did watching Kubrick's 2001.
Although I hear it has director's blessing - hoping for an extended "director's cut" in the future. You may hate it now, but give it 10 years...
