Review of Annihilation (2018) by Shermy — 26 Feb 2018
I went to see it because of the good ratings. But the acting and dialogue were poor. The story-line lacked a backbone. The movie was filled with two things, Natalie Portman frowning and shooting her AR-15, and second rate CGI. I think that the plot was defective because you never could get a clear vision of the adversary. It just seemed like an amalgam of random special effects and strange uninteresting life forms.
They even threw in some generic sex scenes that had just about nothing to do with the plot (and almost nothing to do with sex).
The last time I saw a movie this bad was "Lobster".
