I must admit, sci-fi is not my thing, so if you are a sci-fi fan, you might enjoy this. As for me, I kept checking my watch. It felt long to me, with stilted dialogue and two many pauses in an already long movie.

And I was put off by Natalie Portman still doing that breathy Jacqueline Kennedy/Marilyn Monroe voice. Although I am a woman and love seeing women get their fair share of action movie roles, I have to say: Why would the expedition team not include any males? In the three rows in front of me, I saw several people fiddling with their cellphones dozens of times, like practically nonstop.

Maybe they were bored, too.
