Extremely overrated. Good effects and an interesting premise can't make up for the films very questionable logic, shallow characters, and abundance of plot devices. Almost everything seemed a little forced, and the acting was pretty bad.
Annihilation was a contrived, very much not self aware movie. Skip it.
