Review of Annie Hall (1977) by Liz — 25 Jun 2011
Wood Allen is a comic and structure genius; not only can he make an audience burst out laughing, but he can also create a story, character, and arcs that most screenwriters only wish they could. Basically-- there is no disputing his genius, and there is no disputing the complete and utter humor.
Annie Hall, is not the funniest of all his films, but it is the most widely appealing, and brilliantly written. Plot is this films strong point, and it is a plot that must be experienced to be understood. Allen and Keaton are a strong combination of acting talent, and have shown the culmination of their efforts together in this film-- a film shaped by their relationship.
Overall, though I have not said much, I hope that you realize this film is a must see for all humor fans, and all movie fans in general.
