Review of Annie Hall (1977) by Carlo R — 07 Oct 2013
Alvy Singer (Woody Allen): "... I thought of that old joke: This guy goes to a.
Psychiatrist and says "Doc, my brother's crazy. He thinks he's a chicken." and the.
Doctor says, "Why don't you turn him in?". The guys says, "I would but I need the eggs.".
Well, I guess that's pretty much now how I feel about relationships. You know their.
Totally irrational, and crazy and absurd. And, but ah, I guess we keep going through it.
Because most of us need the eggs.".
This was a pretty clever and subtly funny film and once you get over that weird pervy vibe from watching Woody Allen, it's actually an enjoyable film. Everyone of the cast played their parts beautifully and believably, but the pacing and the dialogue felt a bit manic at times it seems. Overall, the movie was surprisingly entertaining and one would think it would be a bit depressing especially with the main character' s the self-deprecating humor but that grim outlook just added to the charm of the film and was refreshing change from the norm. But the real star of the film is the great writing and it's euphoric perspective on human relationships; now I can see the attraction to this film, even though outwardly it looks a bit dated, the message still rings true and will always transcend time.
