Review of Annie Hall (1977) by Jacob F — 12 Jun 2011
I think Annie Hall is possibly the epitome of bittersweet comedy. The film features various gags that both unique and hilarious. One of my favorite gags is when Alvy and Annie are conversing and we see subtitles which show the true meaning of they are saying.
It also has endlessly quotable lines that are so quick and witty. The film also has a unique story arc which plays like a documentary. Also, Woody Allen, Diane Keaton, and the rest of the ensemble give honest and funny performances.
Overall, Annie Hall is widely regarded as Woody Allen's best known classic, and while watching it I saw the reason why for it was intelligent and in short, incredibly funny.
