Review of Annie Hall (1977) by Kurt F — 08 Jan 2013
1/5/13 Erika really wanted to watch this b/c it is a "classic". I'm not a Woody Allen fan, but I did find the film interesting just b/c it is the film where he discovers his "style".
I actually HATE his style, but it is not bad in this film b.c it is a much more toned down version compared to any of his films from the last 20 years. I think he continually just "cranks up" his pathetic-ness with every film following this one.
I did laugh pretty hard at the first 15 minutes or so. However, its all down hill from there and not much interesting happens after the beginning. Overall, a pretty boring film, but I give it an extra star just for the beginning and the fact that it is a classic.
