Everything about this felt off. I think it came down to a weird mix of trying to ground it in reality in parts, while in other parts were bright, cheerful movie numbers, and the juxtaposition of the two just didn't work.

The music was off -- updated to be 'modern', to the point where autotune was used, and everyone's (except Foxx') singing wasn't *quite* lip synced correctly. The jokes were bad, reducing Foxx to doing spit takes, and having the dog's name be a reference to Hurricane Sandy.

The cell phone business world implications are awful to contemplate. While I did laugh at a couple of spots, I'm not sure if it was with or at the film.
