Review of Annabelle: Creation (2017) by Giorgos K — 16 Aug 2017
The second Annabelle installment gives us a good horror film but a rather bad continuation. The acting is very good & its story serves as a prequel to its predecessor & provides an extensive background to the character of Annabelle.
Although in theory, the addition of background is welcomed, the execution was rather poor. It needlessly complicates the core of the possessing entity. In its attempt to differentiate itself from other horror norms it confuses the possession trope it previously established in the first installment & with it the viewers too.
