Review of Annabelle: Creation (2017) by Jennifer F — 11 Aug 2017

3 stars for the introduction to David Sandberg and the lead actress Talitha Bateman. The script is not good but David does his best to make it interesting. He demonstrates his skills creating tension and playing upon the 'what's under the bed, around the corner, in the closet' childhood fears we all still have.

Unfortunately, that alone would not have worked but for the dominating performance of Talitha Bateman. What's a talent like this doing in a contrived horror film with mediocre supporting performances.

She had to bring that depth out of nowhere. Can't wait to see Shazam and whatever is next for young Bateman.
