Review of Annabelle (2014) by Spencer K — 09 Sep 2015

The Conjuring is one of my favorite modern horror movies, so I was excited for Annabelle. Now, I didn't hate it, but going up against the The Conjuring, it doesn't deliver. The script is very poorly written, with some truly awful dialogue.

However, there were a few effective scares. of the 2 I can remember, was when the cult breaks into the house, and the scene where the main character is walking through the basement, that was very frightening.

there was some usual jump scares of course and not all scares landed. I enjoyed Annabelle for what they gave me and didn't have to much of an issue with it. I'm a sucker for horror films and this one was just fine for me.
