A dispiriting look at how lust - not love - can destroy the lives of those around you and ultimately yourself. I'm a big fan of Joe Wright's work so far, and the visual story telling in this picture is quite charming.
There's enough drama here to satisfy the hungriest of soap opera fans, but the bleak tone of it all may turn off a few of them.
