I found how this movie was staged to be distracting from the story. I'm all for switching things up and trying new things. I really, especially in the beginning had a hard time with it. I eventually got used to it, but it was more about the transitioning to the next scene, then about the characters or story.

I really just wanted to watch a good period drama.
