Joe Wright had a severe case of Baz Luhrmann! A shallow confection that would have Tolstoy rolling in his grave. Fevered passion is replaced by distracting theatrical sets. That said, Jude Law is outstanding as Karenin, as are Matthew MacFadyen and Domhnall Gleeson.
Keira Knightley makes a pretty clothes hanger.
