Review of Anna Karenina (2012) by Carol S — 21 Apr 2013
I'm not sure what I was expecting but it was not this. The movie begins with Keira Knightley's music from Pride and Prejudice, an amazing movie, but that piano background music although beautiful in the P&P movie, is showing up everywhere, overplayed similar piano score.
It is a musical story that is overplayed, overly dramatic almost comediac at times. For instance, there is a dance early on in which the hands are fluttering all over the place as if in some kind of ballet between man and woman.
..only with hands. It was weird. The costuming and scenes are beautiful thus the stars. I do not recommend this movie.
