Review of Animal Kingdom (2010) by Nate A — 28 Jan 2012
This has been done before. But for whatever reason, I really really liked it. It is equal part family and crime drama with a brisk pace and a smart script. Very intense in places with carefully measured moments of horror and sympathy.
Great performances, especially the family matriarch (who received a well-deserved Academy Award nomination) and Guy Pearce has a good (albeit small) role.
