Review of Animal Kingdom (2010) by Thomas G — 28 Sep 2012
In nature it is necessary for the animals to adapt and supersedes the law of the strongest, but it would not be so with humans too? In film is Hollywood and today is the strongest production center and if you are not North American, surely will hear some movies that are not produced there. This is the case of "Animal Kingdom", an Australian film that shows the best they have to offer in film productions.
In the movie, after the death of his mother, Joshua (James Frecheville) moves in with his grandmother and uncles who, as he himself tells us in voiceover, are not even appear daunting. They are dealers in the animal kingdom that is the corrupt underworld of Melbourne. They put Joshua to work with them and, much later, will have a "second chance" by the hand of Sgt Nathan Leckie (Guy Pearce) who believes in the innocence of Joshua.
A drama ruthless, unafraid to show the truth. One direction so accurate with photography and soundtrack. The slow motion at the right times and, in most cases, accompanied only composed the music for the film, creating counterpoints and many beautiful scenes that thrill prays and prays increase the tension of this savage world that the film portrays so seriously.
Besides the excellent technical side the film has also fine performances. Joel Edgerton, Jacki Weaver, Luke Ford, Sullivan Stapleton and Ben Mendelsohn are all well. Scary, mysterious, nervous, surtados and whatever else the script requires them, and requires a lot of them and the public. A story that requires attention to who is watching because, even if the jump events in the eyes of any viewer there is a game on the screen: The law of the jungle valley there and the king can not be who they seem and the outcome of who really is the king in Animal Kingdom may surprise.
