Review of Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging (2008) by 'Becks ' — 10 Apr 2009

In 2008, I was the same age as the main characters, and now, as i'm coming up to my 16th birthday am still in adolescence and has first hand experience as a 'noughties' teen. I did't find this film represented modern adolescence as the characters were extremely naive.

I realise however, that the demgraphic for this film was largely tweenagers. However I found this film too twee and disney princess.The trailer gave off the impression that this movie would be a junior Bridget Jones' with a cute but unlucky female protagonist.

However, I felt the leading role was less loveable and found myself cringing at the way 14 year old girls were represented, especially as I was 14 myself at the time.
