Review of Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging (2008) by Vic P — 28 Oct 2009

Just when I thought that Valley Girl was unique in its abject vapidity, along comes this movie. It just goes to show that Americans haven't cornered the market on silliness. This flick focuses on a self-absorbed chick who seems to base her self-esteem and self-worth on her ability to snag a man, and she pulls out every desperate ploy to win her current infatuation.

In the process, she jerks other guys around, manipulates and envies her friends, and pouts like a pro. The movie ends happily for her, although I'm sure shortly thereafter the birthday party glamor fades and she grows bored with her beau, and probably dumps him coldly to chase after some other new fad that's struck her fancy.

Great flick for those who like shallow chick flicks with self-centered protagonistas.
